Welcome

BudMinder is a self-hosted grow journal that runs on your own computer or home server. It keeps your plants, their daily notes and photos, your strains and seeds, your sensor readings and your smoke reports in one place.

What's in BudMinder

• Today shows if your plants need watering or feeding, a live view of your plants and recent activity.
• Plants tracks your individual plants. Each plant has a dedicated page for growth stages, photos and a complete activity log.
• Strains organizes every strain you grow, your physical seed inventory in the Seed Vault and tracks your Wanted list.
• Sensors charts live climate readings from AC Infinity, Ecowitt, Home Assistant and custom sensor hardware.
• Smoke lets you rate your harvest or dispensary pickups on appearance, aroma, flavor and effects.
• Settings manages your environment setup, units of measurement, sensors, cameras and data backups.

Using this manual

Choose a topic from the sidebar on the left, or use Search the manual to find any keyword. On a phone, select a section from the menu at the top.

Screenshots highlight the features being explained. Numbered green callouts on each image correspond directly to the numbered steps in the text. Click or tap any image to view it full size.

Tip: The Help button in the top menu opens the section for the page you're on. Click it on a plant's page and you land on Plant page.

Where to start

New to BudMinder? The tour at the top of this page shows the basics in about 3 minutes. You can start it again any time from Take the tour at the top of the sidebar. Then read First login and password, followed by Finding your way. After that, a good order is:

1. Add your tents in Settings, under Grow setup (BudMinder calls them zones).
2. Add a strain on the Strains page.
3. Add a plant from that strain.
4. Connect your sensors: on the Sensors page, click Manage sensors.
